Have you ever dreamt of spending a sunny summer day exploring the Louvre museum for hours, only to emerge hungry and spent, and then find solace in a delicious Parisian cafe overlooking the museum? Well, guess what bitches? I was straight-up living that fantasy!!! I say that in jest – I’m aware of my privilege and am super grateful for these opportunities #pleasedontcancelme!!!
(Also why do we look ghostly pale in the below photos – help lol)
No, but actually, it was our aunt’s dream to go to the Louvre, so we booked tickets to explore the museum for a bit and then got a reservation at the iconic Café Marly right outside the Louvre to have lunch after.
Again, Café Marly isn’t an all-vegan restaurant, but they did have yummy complimentary bread (just make sure to skip the cute candy-wrapper-looking butter) and a vegan quinoa/kale/avocado salad on the menu! How cool!
I would honestly come here for the view and vibes alone (which were immaculate), but the cherry on top was that the food is also delicious. The kale was so, so fresh and crunchy and delicious that it literally got me back on my kale grind in LA. I forgot kale existed for a hot sec but this dish was an excellent reminder that kale reigns supreme in the leafy greens department. The quinoa was also delicious and the avocado was super creamy! Idk what is in the Parisian water, but every avocado I had on this trip was perfect.
I also got a lemonade to round out the meal because this lemonade was literally on my dream board! I wanted to manifest a Parisian summer and, boy, did I. Also, I should mention, all lemonade in Paris is sparkling. Weird, right? But I kinda dig it.
Anyway, 10/10 vibes. 100% come here post-Louvre! Or the Mona Lisa is gonna getcha!
