Yes, this is my 3rd time back in Seoul in a year. BUT SO WHAT!? If you want a comprehensive guide to eating vegan in Seoul, check out the previous Seoul blogs from March 2024 and October 2023). I won’t be re-blogging any of the places I have previously blogged because I feel like that may be repetitive? So this blog post is just any NEW places in Seoul that I went to on my trip in October 2024. I really didn’t try that many new places since I visited old favorites most of the time, buttttt I did try a few new places. Shall we begin?
- Ferments
I had been meaning to check out this spot last time I was in Seoul but didn’t have time. This trip, I came here with my two friends who live in Korea and the food was SO yummy.
We got the soy sauce “chicken” cauliflower, a mushroom pizza, and a hummus platter. I also got an oat milk matcha latte. The hummus had such a unique, delicious flavor to it. It was delicious. The cauliflower was 10/10, SO yummy. The matcha latte was delicious. The only thing I didn’t love was the pizza but my friends liked it. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. If you want to visit the Amore Pacific Museum or the Hybe building, this is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat in the area.
2. Cosmos Grocery + Cafe
I randomly found this spot on the Happy Cow app (which… if you don’t have… get. Trust meh.) It was this cute little cozy shop with a small cafe menu. There was a little cat room with a sleeping cat, and a dog randomly sitting on a table. For lunch, I got the vegan pulled pork sandwich and an iced butterscotch latte. The meal was SO delicious, so warming, and so filling. I accidentally bit down too hard on a chip in my sandwich and cut my mouth, so be careful LOL, BUT I do recommend putting the chips in the sandwich for an extra crunch. This place is really energetically calming and I recommend it as a cute solo lunch date.
3. Korea House
My amazing friend who lives in Korea wanted me to have an experience that wasn’t touristy in Seoul so she set up a vegan tasting at this place called Korea House, which is an immersive and cultural experience in a beautiful Hanock. They might do full meals but I got the little snacks/light bites and they modified everything to be vegan. They were SO nice. And there was also a traditional performance before the food was brought out. The traditional treats were really yummy and unique. You could tell a lot of care went into every bite. I went solo and it was also the perfect solo spot to just enjoy treats and be at peace.
4. OddFellows ice cream
My friend (who’s also my Korean tutor hehe) and I went to this ice cream spot that had vegan chocolate chunk ice cream. It was really yummy! Not mind-blowing but the perfect sweet treat after dinner 🙂
5. L7 Hotel Hongdae
Just wanted to mention that the free welcome snack in my hotel room was VEGAN by default! The Yakgwa was 10/10 wow.
6. Dotori Cafe
I didn’t get to try this place because the wait was CRAZY long but it looked super cute from the outside and, according to my Happy Cow app, had some vegan options!
BONUS mention: Forrest Kitchen UPDATE
Forrest Kitchen used to be a FANTASTIC vegan tasting course and now is just a random vegan restaurant with the smallest menu of all time and mediocre food. Also everything I wanted (like the dessert french toast) was unavailable. So if you’re planning on going here because of previous blog posts recommending it…. Don’t. Unless they bring back the tasting menu.
Anyway, Seoul gets more vegan friendly every time I visit, so I can’t wait to go back again sometime.
Seoul 2025? Anyone wanna come with?
