My sister and I just got back from Phoenix/Scottsdale Arizona for a little girls trip. NGL, Phoenix is a tad boring. So sorry to all our Phoenix readers out there. We love you, but it’s just not the city for us.
Regardless, the vegan food was pretty good, so thought we’d share where we went and what we got should you ever randomly find yourself in the throws of Phoenix or Scottsdale!
LA GRAND ORANGE BAKERY AND GROCERY
We actually found La Grand Orange from one of our favorite Tik Tokers, Emilie Kiser. She goes there all the time for their honey latte, so we just HAD to see what the hype was about. First of all, the place is so darn cute. It’s part boutique store, part bakery, part coffee shop, part pizza place, part grocery store, and part cafe.
At the bakery, they had a few vegan options including the BEST almond apple cookie, which literally tasted like fall marzipan apple pie heaven. They also had a really yummy chocolate chip banana bread and a pumpkin cherry oat bar we didn’t try.
At the restaurant portion of the place, they served vegan chili too, which was cool! We didn’t try it, but if we had more time, we would have gotten it.
The star of the show was the honey latte. Emilie was right, that shit slaps. As you all know, we do eat honey occasionally, so if you don’t want honey, they have other options without honey. For milks, they have oat milk, vanilla soy, and nut mylk. The nut mlyk SUCKED. Literally tasted like it went bad, but the vanilla soy is really good, so def get your drinks with that.
Thanks for the rec, Emilie!
KALEIDOSCOPE
Kaleidoscope was this awesome juicery/smoothie place/cafe that had a TON of vegan options. Bella got their famous and beautiful strawberry shortcake smoothie, which she said tasted like a good, but not as good, version of the Hailey Bieber smoothie at Erewhon.
Then we got the vegan version of their protein waffles, which came with vegan whipped cream, maple syrup, strawberries, bananas, and a pitaya drizzle. They were BOMB! We love waffles, so it’s pretty hard to disappoint us with them. My only gripe was that I wish they came with more strawberries. The tartness really helped cut the sweetness, so more of them would have been perfect.
THE HENRY
The Henry is this really cool, modern restaurant and bar that my sister and I 100% recommend. I mean, you all want to trendy, right?? Then def go here. The place is not vegan, but they do have an amazing (like drool-worthy) sprouts squash salad that can be made vegan by taking off the cheese.
Also, I had a fig Moscow mule which was so, so delicious and sweet. If you have a date or are grabbing drinks with friends, this is your spot!
SPINATOS
Spinatos is this super, super cute pizza spot. It’s not 100% vegan either, but they have a make your own pizza with Myokos vegan cheese as an option. I got mine with the thin crust, vegan cheese, fresh basil, and sun-dried tomatoes. Bella got hers with the same, with pineapple on hers too. It was SO yummy. The cheese was super melty (which, you know, is rare for vegan cheese) and the sauce was so sweet. If you like pizza, check it out!
SPROUTS
So Phoenix/Scottsdale, like all major cities, have Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc. But we thought we’d mention we got a make-your-own veggie sandwich at Sprouts while we were there, which was a super easy and convenient vegan lunch. We also went to Taco Bell, Subway, and Jersey Mikes for a few easy vegan meals. Not ideal, but just wanted to mention they are available.
That’s all folks! See ya next time!
