So, like the rest of you vegans, I too was bummed out when the cronut-craze hit the city. LIke you all, I too thought I would never get the chance to experience the crispy, creme layered croissant/donut that sweeped the nation *cue violin music*

BUT, lo and behold, our very own Peacefood cafe in the Upper West Side began serving their own spin on the cronut! THE DOISSANT!!!

Honestly, every bite was a bite of what I assume heaven tastes like. We snagged the last one so my sister and I had to share one, but I savored every last bite. Peacefood has them rarely and they are usually wiped out by noon so make sure you call in advance. (When we went, a few were put aside and reserved!) Can you believe that? We live in a society where you have to reserve donuts! But hey, a vegan’s gotta do what a vegan’s gotta do…
