So what do you do when you have a whole Saturday free? YOU TAKE AN ADVENTURE. My friends and I all hopped in our car (yes we hopped) and drove like 2 hours to the Mojave dessert (cuz we are #ambitious) to go play with farm animals at The Sanctuary at Solded Goats, a sanctuary for rescued animals!!!
Our road trip was SO fun and spontaneous and after our grand ole’ time with all the animals, we were feeling kinda hungry. So we randomly found this place called Whole Wheatery nearby and decided to YOLO it and go!
It’s a SUPER vegan-friendly supermarket (legit almost everything was vegan) and inside is a little cafe called Natcheryl’s Cafe that has a ton of juices/smoothies/milkshake and food options that can be made vegan!!! I know, like how did we find vegan food in the middle of nowhere?! BECAUSE WE’RE THATVEGANLIFEDOE.
The cafe was so cute and small and cozy and the waitress was super nice. I ordered the vegan version of the pumpkin pie milkshake which everybody agreed was AMAZING (legit tasted like fall). My sister and I also ordered a carrot, lime, apple juice which I legit drank in 2 seconds. Super tasty. And my friend got a berry smoothie? Can’t remember if she liked it but i’m pretty sure she did.
For lunch, we all ordered the vegan version of the taco salad and a vegan avocado/cheese sandwich to split that came with potato salad. The taco salad was tasty! Not the best thing ever, but definitely yummy. The sandwich looked super lame but was surprisingly SO GOOD. I don’t know what bread they used but it was BOMB AF. And the potato salad was SOOO good that I asked for another side of it #fatass #yasss.
We munched away on this while contemplating who, out of the four of us, would die first if we were all in the hunger games. Needless to say, everyone voted that I would survive till the end so #YAS.
Anyway, if you live in the area or if you maybe just drove 2 hours to play with goats on a random saturday (not that I’ve done that before… pft), then hit this place up for some healthy, simple, yummy food or vegan groceries!
