Am I a Harry Potter adult? No. But did I read all the books and see all the movies and continue to love the wave of nostalgia the series brings over me whenever I step foot into the Hogwarts universe? Absolutely. Does that make me a Harry Potter adult? Honestly maybe.
Whatever. My sister had a friend in town who was a major Potter Head (get it? like pothead?) and asked us to take him to the official Harry Potter story in Union Square in Manhattan for fun.
Even though it was touristy, I’m not even gonna lie to save face, it was pretty epic. The number of interactive spaces they have, the decor, the variety of items they were selling, and collabs they had with other toy companies – it was super fun and creative and really immersive. They even have Harry Potter Hogwarts garments and accessories for AMERICAN GIRL DOLLS. Like are you kidding me!? That is childhood-me’s wet dream. A mini chocolate frog for your doll? I mean, unreal.
Anyway, back to veganism, the store had a cafe inside selling Harry Potter-themed desserts and butter beer and they had a vegan option! How crazy! The option was a vegan Deathly Hallows sugar cookie. Although it looks kind of mid, it was actually soooooo delicious and flavorful. I was genuinely surprised. If you’re vegan and a big Harry Potter fan, I would definitely check this out and 100% get a vegan sugar cookie after you’re done perusing.
