So people, as y’all know, Austin  is kind of like vegan heaven so of course it would make sense that the famed downtown Austin hotel “The Driskill” would also have vegan options as well!

But before I talk about the food here, I feel like I should mention that the hotel is haunted…??? Not sure why but it is called the Dris(kill) and that just kind of freaks me out. Like, who was killed there!?!?! How?! Why?! So many questions…

Anyway, at their lil restaurant called the 1886 Cafe & Bakery (is that the year someone died??), they actually have a vegan sandwich on their menu!!! Crazy right?? I legit sat down for a quick bite  before a conferance I had to attend hoping to at least get french fries or a mixed salad, and they legit had an option for vegans!!! I was #SHOOK to say the least. 

Anyway, the sandwich was delicious and was made of: grilled tomato, shucked corn, fresh avocado, arugula, charred jalepeno veganaise (it’s Texas, everything has to be spicy lol) all between a yummy onion roll with a side of fries. Delicious! 

Mind you, the Driskill may be haunted but this sandwich certainly wasn’t! (unless I swallowed a ghost then… #rip)
