As a vegan food blogger (and food-obsessed fatass), I have had my fair share of vegan pizza at a plethora of vegan restaurants all over the world. Hopefully, that gives merit to my following statement: Sizzle Pie in Portland has some of the BEST vegan pizza I have ever had.
For those of you unfamiliar with Portland (lol I went there for four days during spring break and now I think I’m a native), Sizzle Pie is a pizza shop right across the street from Powell Bookstore (their super famous, super big bookstore). Like most of Portland, the vibe of this place is super unique and weird (in a good way) serving a lot of rock’n’roll/ punk vibes.
The food here tho is not weird at all. In fact, the food is out of this world. It’s not all vegan, but they always have a few vegan pies on display if you like buying by the slice (like they do in my hometown NYC!!!), but they also have personal vegan pies you can get made for you.
My sister and I got the 12-inch personal pie with Follow Your Heart cheese and vegan pepperoni, with a side of vegan garlic knots.
DGBOS:CGB:OUGCBUHOHWs GUYS this place was so good, we went twice during our four-day trip!! The pizza was incredible. The cheese, the pepperoni, the crust, ugh, perfection. Not to mention, I haven’t eaten garlic knots since I was like ten and these brought me RIGHT BACK to my childhood. They were so fucking perfect.
IM STILL DREAMING ABOUT SIZZLE PIE *cryyyyy*
Anyway, clearly you can tell I recommend this place, but if you can’t, then let me reiterate: Go to sizzle pie!!
