HEY LADIES AND GENTS! It’s been a minute! Happy 2019 errrybody!
Unless you’re time traveling. In that case, happy hot tub time machine.
Now back to the food. My sissy and I went home to NY for the holidays to spend time with my fam/friends/pups, etc. Our friend Carly was nice enough to come over and hang, but not only did she hang, but she also brought us SEA SALT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES for Christmas. I know. I know. I know. How amazing is she?
The cookies were from a Brooklyn-based bakery called Ovenly and they were amazing. The chocolate chips were huge, dark slices and the bitterness of the chocolate worked really well with the sweet cookie dough. Plus, the little hint of sea salt tied all the flavors together. (Yes, if you were wondering, I have been watching a lot of Great British Bakeoff .)
Also, their online website shows that they have a “salted chocolate chip cookie,” which they label as “secretly vegan.” So adorable. I love that they can accommodate to vegans on the DL, but also get non-vegans to buy vegan cookies!
Thanks, Ovenly for the low-key vegan support and thanks to Carly for being an OG bae.
