Very rarely do any cool, trendy places pop up in the tiny town of Greenwich, CT. Not because Greenwich, CT isn’t the OG bae (I promise I’m not jaded by LA #okmaybeIam), but because CT is more preppy and traditional and less… you know, trendy.
But have no fear all you Greenwichers (?), Greenwich is slowly but surely making i’s way up the trendy latter and My Mix Creative Kitchen is proof! Kind of.
Ok so My Mix is asthetically very trendy and LA. Also it’s a make your own salad/bowl cafe which is very in right now #yayhealth and even though it’s not vegan, they have vegan options.
They also have a bunch of vegan/gluten-free desserts, snacks, and cool drinks like cold-pressed juices, flavored zero-calories sparkling waters, and water bottles that are more expensive because they are served in ~trendy~ bottles so you feel more inclined to buy them (guilty as charged #sorrynotsorry).
HOWEVER, I cannot say the food was all that amazing. I got the Soba ‘Sabi salad (green, spicy brocolli, soba noodles, edamame, carrots, wasabi vinagrette or some shit) and Leila got one of the hot bowls. Forgot the name. But either way, we both agreed that the salad and the bowl lacked in flavor. Literally, my salad didn’t even have a hint of spice and it was named after it’s main ingredient “wasabli”! SMH. Wasabi? More like Wasa-BYE.
Overall verdict: A weak “eh”.
But on the bright side (silver lining, folks!) the vegan peanut butter cookie we got was BALLER. So I guess if you’re in town and craving something sweet, check it out?
Mix! I was rooting for you! We were rooting for you! HOW DARE YOU!?!
*Side note: I do appreciate the effort and the vegan options!!! I’m not being a hater, I swear!
