Happy summer, everyone! I know not many of our readers are from the small, waspy AF town of Greenwich, CT… but if you are, this one’s for you.
Lately, Greenwich Avenue (one long street that is basically shopping/restaurant heaven) has been surprising us Connecticut locals with plentiful new restaurants and shops popping up out of nowhere. Lately, my favorite addition has been the Pressed Juice. My inner basic Cali girl forced me to go to this Pressed Juice every day when I was home.
However, the Ave (that’s what we waspy folk call it ) has blessed us with yet another sushi place and, if you know me at all, you know I LOVE sushi. This place is called MIKU and it’s a fancy-ish/casual-ish sushi place. Let me explain. I came in wearing leggings and a sweatshirt and they certainly seated me, but everyone else was dressed business casual, so I stuck out like a sore thumb. Do you catch my vibe?
Anyway, sad to say, there were not many vegan options at all. I got the classic vegan-option-at-Japanese-restaurant for dinner: avocado rolls, steamed rice, and steamed veggies with steamed tofu. They offered to sauté the tofu and veggies, but I was trying to be #healthy (more like #lame) and got them steamed. TBH, probably would have tasted better sautéd.
Was it amazing? No. Was it bad? No. Is Kira’s Sushi (the other Greenwich sushi place) still the best fucking sushi place on the planet? YES. Nothing beats Kiras. Sorry, not sorry.
So anyway, if your friends or parents invite you to dinner at MIKU, at least you know you won’t be starving!
