Everybody knows Mel’s Drive In! It’s a classic. It’s a diner based off of a diner in the classic film American Graffiti (really good movie!) I never went since becoming vegan though because I assumed they wouldn’t have any vegan options BUT I was wrong. 

Their onion rings accidentally VEGAN!!! They also clearly mark every vegan option on the menu. Even the waitress was super knowledgeable about the vegan options. They have a black bean burger, an Impossible burger, a vegan chocolate chip milkshake, a house salad, an Impossible Burrito, etc. Just double check to make sure those are full vegan and not just vegetarian (although I’m sure they can adjust them to be vegan. They seem fully vegan on their own. I just am not sure if the V on the menu is vegetarian or Vegan).

I got the onion rings and a coke float with diet coke and coconut milk ice cream. It was SUCH a yummy and fun meal. The onion rings weren’t amazing but they were still super scrumptious and yummy. The coke float was incredible. Highly recommend.

Would I go out of my way to come here? No. But if my friend and I wanted to get late night munchies, Mel’s is the place to go!
