Laurel Hardware sounds like an appliance and electronic shop, right? Well, you’re not wrong. Laurel Hardware used to be an actual hardware shop. However, West Hollywood, like the trendy AF place it is, turned it into a swanky indoor-outdoor bar and restaurant. The funny part is though, the outside still looks like – and is disguised as – a hardware shop, so it reminds me of something out of Harry Potter or something during the prohibition. Super cool.
Also, because outdoor dinner and bar options are so slim these days because of something called ~covid 19~ I’ve had to be more creative in researching places to eat. That’s why it was such a delight to find out that Laurel Hardware not only had plenty of outdoor seating but plenty of vegan options as well!!
For starters, the outdoor seating was magical. I felt like I was dining in a secret garden in Italy. Don’t believe me? Well, see for yourself. Although, as a disclaimer, the picture doesn’t really do it justice.
The cocktail menu was also OUT OF THIS WORLD. Yes, I get very excited about delicious alcoholic drinks. Sue me. Momma needs her juice, after all. Anyway, after perusing the whole menu, I was stuck between the lavender margarita slushie or the “Gangster” cocktail, which was cucumber vodka, fresh watermelon juice, and lime. Like the fresh-pressed hoe I am, I just had to go with the “Gangster” and, wow, it did not disappoint. It literally tasted like a juicy, fruity fresh juice that also made you tipsy. The cucumber vodka was so refreshing, you could barely taste the alcohol. I ended up getting two of them! Living la vida loca.
For the food, they had a few vegan options, including a few salads and a spaghetti dish with garlic bread. I wasn’t too hungry, so I got the miso kale salad, which came with roasted chickpeas, watermelon radish, beets, and sesame seeds. It was good. Nothing to rave home about. However, the beats were amazing. I could have eaten the whole bowl of them. So sweet and flavorful.
All in all, I totally recommend it. The vibes and drinks were, as TikTok would say, immaculate.
