A vegan patisserie! A vegan boulangerie! A vegan bakery! A vegan cafe! Whatever you want to call it! Whatever the French call it!
Yes, during our recent trip to Paris, we were able to go to an all-vegan boulangerie!! IMO, if you only had a short amount of time and had to choose between this one and Cloud Cakes (another vegan bakery in Paris), I would probably choose Land & Monkeys. I would choose L & M because they just had such a WIDE range of French pastries and there were just so many fun options that Cloud Cakes didn’t have!
It was incredibly hard to choose from all of the beautiful and yummy-looking pastries, but my sister and I ended up getting a pain au chocolat (my Parisian friend HATES when Americans call these “chocolate croissants” lol), a cinnamon roll, a chocolate babka roll (arrrreeee youuu kiddding meeee?), an apple turnover thing, and a chocolate chip brioche bun. My aunt also got the apple turnover and some tomato bread and olive bread twists.
Here’s another angle so you can see the brioche hiding underneath!
My favorite – hands down – was the chocolate chip brioche. It was so soft and the dark chocolate contrasted so well with the sweet bread. I could have eaten twelve in one sitting if someone let me. The rest were good but not as mind-blowing! The apple turnover tasted flaky and yummy, the babka rolls were chocolatey and had a cookie butter drizzle on top, and the cinnamon roll was super tasty! The breads my aunt got were very yummy too!
The only thing that was super underwhelming was the pain au chocolat (France cannot get vegan croissants right it seems!) and the fact that there were randomly whole hazelnuts in the babka roll, which was not my fave.
Other than that, pretty epic spot for vegans, and the place was packed, so that’s gotta say something!
