Okay, I know you guys are thinking two things…Who the fuck is Fred Segal? OR Fred Segal is a clothing store. Why the fuck do they have a cafe?
Well, if you asked number one, hopefully I answered your question with number two. And if you asked number two, the answer is I have no idea! But I love it!
Fred Segal cafe is this adorable little cafe inside of the actual Fred Segal store (Not to be confused with Mauros cafe at the other weho Fred Segal location) and they have all different types of lattes and even a to-go fridge with kombucha and I think there is like a vegan chia pudding in there. Not everything is vegan but they just came out with a lunch menu with a ton of things that can be made vegan! How exciting!
According to the lady who worked there all the salads can be made vegan, as well as the avocado toast, and the seafood linguine without the seafood. Okay, so here’s the tea I’m spilling. We aren’t sure if she knew the exact definition of veganism, but she was ~ extremely confident ~ about what could be made vegan, so we trusted her. Shows ya what a little confidence can do, ammaright?!
So the avocado toast was BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLER. It had the yummiest bread, the softest avocado, and the best (non spicy) pickled jalapeños and red onions on top. Damn, if it wasn’t raining in LA, I’d go get some right now.
And here comes the confusing part. So they gave us the seafood linguine without the seafood (duh) and it STILL tasted like seafood (which is a nasty taste if you ask me, and certainly not vegan). And we brought it up to the lady and she was like “nope I saw them make it. It’s vegan” #confidence . And we were like… but why it taste like shrimp and lobster tho? Girlllll, you better check yourself before you wreck yourself
SO all in all, make sure to ask what is vegan to triple check, stay safe with the avocado toast and the salads, and steer clear from the linguine, my friends. Also be confident! It seems to be working just fine for that lady!
