We found an all-vegan patisserie in Paris. I repeat, we found an all-vegan patisserie in Paris. Yes, everyone, you heard that correctly: Paris now has a vegan patisserie (more like bakery and cafe) called Cloud Cakes that serves vegan French baked goods, veganized coffee drinks, and has a kitchen that cooks fun items like vegan sloppy joes!
The inside of the cafe was super cute and cozy. I believe there are two locations in total in Paris that stay open relatively late, but we came here around 3ish o’clock and didn’t realize the kitchen closes for like a random hour or two in every restaurant in Paris after lunch (#sad #iwantedmysloppyjoemoment), so we just got soy cappuccinos and some pastries.
I ended up getting a croissant and a lemon curd cupcake. TBH, the croissant was alright. A croissant is never going to be bad, but it was missing those classic French pastry layers and kinda tasted like those Pillsbury ones that come in the tube. The lemon cupcake took me by surprise, though, and was actually quite delicious! Sharp and sweet!
Bella got the eclair and some mini cupcakes. She felt eh about the eclair but really enjoyed her cupcakes. So maybe the cupcakes are the way to go!
All in all, not sure I would go out of my way to come here again when/if I return to Paris, but if I were passing it on the street and craving something sweet, I might stop in and see what else they have to offer! Who knows!
