So, we all can agree that the best channel on TV is the Food Network. I mean, a channel dedicated to FOOD. If that doesn’t blow your mind, we cannot be friends (I bet that’s a relief).
Who is the king of Food Network? GUY FRICKEN FIERI. Well, yesterday your favorite foodies (obviously us) merged with your other fave foodie, GUY FIERI. We got the opportunity to be on his show and see how it was filmed! CRAZY! I literally watch that show every single day of my life. Mostly because I don’t have a life, but also because it’s a great show!! So look out for us on TV and especially look out for our adorable 8 year old family friend, Alexa, who stole the show with her insane amount of adorableness….ahh the joys of still being a cute child and not a fugly troll adult.
But guess what? There’s more! GUY is a vegan supporter! Two quotes directly from Guy Fieri when we told him we had a vegan blog “I love vegan food!” and “Vegan food doesn’t get the respect it deserves”. Also, he called us Vegan Princesses. So if the King of Food called us princesses, SO MUST YOU.
Anyways, Chicken Itza is this little Mexican place in a awesome warehouse in downtown LA (near my homegurl USC of course) and it’s super cute and authentic and local. For the show, the chef of Chicken Itza made us vegan options so we could eat the food on camera. So nice! Also in the warehouse is a place called “Ethiopian Vegan” so check that out too bros.
We got vegan tacos and tamales that were good but I didn’t eat much because i was kinda freaking out about what to say on camera. Then I ended up speaking gibberish, so I guess I freaked out for nothing! To drink, we got this cool Guayaba drink that was fruity and sweet and very refreshing. The chef was super nice and accommodating!
Near the restaurant, they have a little gift store with little bracelets and dolls and things and I got a super cute bracelet so I can look put together/somewhat stylish and not like my usual: a bum who looks like she has no idea what the fuck is going on in her life, which is completely spot on.
