Vegan toasted marshmallow topping. NUFF SAID. Blog post over. Bye!!

Just kidding my friends! This place is the most random place to ever exist in Port Chester. Like if you’ve never been to Port Chester NY, all you have to know is that there is a movie theater, Bar Taco, a Michaels, and a train stop. WELL, now we get to add Bona Bona to that list!

Bona Bona is an ice cream shop that specializes in TOASTED FUCKING MARSHMALLOWS ON TOP OF THEIR ICE CREAM. Okay, they don’t specialize in it BUT I’m pretty sure that’s what they are known for. They have a truck at Smogasburg in NYC and also the store in Port Chester, which is yet again, VERY random but I’m not mad about it! The store is like weirdly huge and empty and confusing, but honestly, your store can be all of those things if you have vegan toasted marshmallow topping. 

They had like one or two vegan flavors. I think it was like coconut and strawberry. At first I was a little disappointed because I hate when ice cream stores have fruit flavored ice cream for the vegan options and I usually hate coconut ice cream, but this one was really yummy. I can’t realize describe the coconut flavor but i’ve never tried coconut ice cream like that before. Like it was a super unique coconut flavor and was very rich and like… deep? Like idk how to explain it. The flavor was just like….creamy and deep. (Lol that’s what she said!!!!) Most of the cones were also vegan too.

And then for the STAR element, THE VEGAN TOASTED MARSHMALLOW *cue gasp*. They use the aquafaba (the liquid at the bottom of a can of chickpeas. Also my rapper name) to make the “meringue” that they torch and it becomes a literal toasted marshmallow waiting to be devoured. It was SOOO yummy.

I couldn’t finish the entire thing because it was extremely decadent and sweet, but I finished most of it and would totally come back! Finger licking’ good, pals!
