Mediterranean food in Tokyo!?!?! Um, yes please lol.
Now I know what you all are thinking. You’re in Japan, loser, why not eat Japanese food? Valid point. However, my sister and I already ate a shit ton of Japanese food on this trip, not to mention that this restaurant is one of the most well-known vegan restaurants in Japan… and yes they serve Mediterranean food, sue me.
8ablish is truly this adorable little nook of a restaurant in Tokyo. Not only do they have a rocking vegan menu (albeit it being very small I will admit), but they also served countless cookies and desserts at the front register!
For starters, I got their pomegranate kombucha soda. Now I don’t know if kombucha soda is any different from normal kombucha, but this kombucha was LIT AF. So fucking good. It actually tasted like soda… but then again, maybe it was soda??? #conspiracytheories
Then for my meal, I got the soup of the day, which was a creamy potato soup, and the Mediterranean plate. The plate included a BOMB AF tofu/veggie/tempeh skewer, drizzled in this tahini satay sauce that was literally everything, with a side of warm pita and creamy hummus.
It hit every spot, lemme tell you. It was so, so delicious. That’s the thing about Japan, no matter what type of food you get there, it’s going to be amazing. The food is just better on this island, I promise.
On the other hand, Bella was in a weird mood and literally ordered bread w/ butter and ice cream for dinner. Do not ask me why lol. She devoured both in seconds saying they were amazing. The soft serve was vanilla flavored with creme brulee caramel on top and a side of sea salt to sprinkle like salt bae. I tried it and can confirm it was amazing.
All in all, 10/10 recommend.
