Famous Plant Based chef Matthew Kenney (known for Double Zero and Plant Food and Wine) has created a new vegan restaurant in Manhattan called Sestina, an all vegan Italian restaurant/pasta bar.
I have not tried much from this place, as I only Postmated dessert from here, but here is my review of the dessert! Take this review with a grain of salt as it was Postmated and just one item! I’m sure the actual food is great.
I saw the vegan zeppoles from Sestina all over Instagram and knew I wanted to try them! When do you get to eat vegan zeppoles?! So I ordered them! They come with powdered sugar and a side of chocolate dip with hazelnuts.
The verdict? They were okay. I don’t know if it’s because they were Postmated and not fresh, but they were INCREDIBLY greasy. They tasted like greasy funnel cake. And the chocolate dip was 5/10. Probably wouldn’t order again, but I don’t think that really says anything about the restaurant itself!
