You know how there are some new restaurants that you just never get around to trying, no matter how many times the opportunity presents itself? Well, Nic’s on Beverly is one of those. I kept hearing about it and seeing it all over Instagram, but I just couldn’t bring myself to go. Why? Because I’m a lazy motherf*cker, I guess. Idk!!
Anyway, I was going on a date and the date recommended this restaurant so I thought, “Why not? This is the perfect time to check out this place that I’ve been avoiding for, like, over a year.”
To my pleasant surprise, this place has now become one of my new favorite vegan restaurants in LA and now I stupidly ask myself why I never went earlier. I guess that’s what you get for being lazy folks! But enough about my shortcomings, let’s get straight to the food.
For the appetizer, we got the Avocado Crispy Rice and the Chinois on Beverly salad. The salad was SO good. So fresh and flavorful. 10/10 would get again. The crispy rice had an amazing flavor. My only complaint was that I wish the rice was actually crispy. It came a bit soft. So, again, delicious, but missing the “crispy” of the Avocado Crispy Rice title.
For the meal, we split Nic’s Impossible Burger with their famous Gratin Fries and their BBQ Chicken Wood-Fire Pizza. WHEN I TELL YOU THIS PIZZA WAS THE BEST VEGAN PIZZA I’VE EVER HAD, I AM NOT LYING. That shit was insane. The second I took a bite, my whole body melted, and took a fast track to flavor town. Literally, writing this blog post is making me so hungry. The BBQ chicken was so flavorful and well-cooked. The consistency of the dough was unreal and the cheese was amazing. My guest, who was not vegan, was also practically drooling with me. 1000/10 recommend.
The Impossible Burger was also INCREDIBLE. One of the best preparations for an Impossible burger I’ve had in a long time. It came with the most delectable caramelized onions too. If you like burgers, you will LOVE this one.
For dessert (yes, we somehow still had room in our stomachs), we ordered the banana split with hot fudge. This was – not kidding – one of the best banana splits I’ve ever had. I could have eaten the entire thing in one sitting if I wasn’t sharing it with someone else. Enjoy the food porn picks of the delectable hot fudge below.
Should you go here? UM YES. Go before I do and eat so much that I leave nothing for the rest of you all!
