How did I live in LA for this long and not realize there was an ALL VEGAN grocery store in Hollywood?! I found out after I watched a YouTubers “what I eat in a day” video and was shook. How did my vegan spidey senses not lead me to this grocery store sooner?!

Anyway, I knew I had to check it out so I drove to East Hollywood (I also fell out of my car and into a bush when I parked #dontask) and found myself at Besties: Vegan Paradise. You know, it’s not everyday you get to walk around a grocery store and not question the ingredients. I think people who don’t have any food restrictions take for granted what it’s like to shop for food. But I digress. 

This place was pretty small but they had every vegan brand you can think of. It was super snack-heavy but there were multiple freezers/fridges with vegan meat alternatives, vegan cheeses, milks, and even sandwiches. I also saw that they had a vegan soft serve menu and a vegan hot dog menu!!

I got me and my sister a bunch of cool snacks (some that I have tried before and some entirely new) and went on my merry way. Some of the things I got were these BOMB ASS vegan chocolate covered raisins, a vegan version of the Laughing Cow cheeses, and vegan stroop waffles! Such unique finds!!

Was this place pricey? Of course. All speciality stores are. Would I go back? Maybe if I was in the area! But I feel like Erewhon is a as close to an all-vegan grocery store you’re going to get that isn’t entirely vegan and I’d probably go to Erewhon over this place just because the variety is wider and the store is bigger. It’s super cool though and if you’re a vegan in LA, I recommend you try it out at least once 🙂 Go treat yourself to as many vegan goodies as your heart desires!
