Did I drive an hour and a half just to try a vegan Korean corndog? You bet your ASS I did. Unless you’re living under a rock (which no shade if you are, rocks are cool), than you know Korean corndogs are HUGE on Youtube and TikTok, thanks to Trisha Paytas popularizing them. I was always so envious of all the non-vegans who got to eat the corndogs until Beleaf Burgers came out with the ONLY vegan version.
It’s so far from where I live in LA but I’m trying to do one thing that scares me everyday so I decided to venture on the long drive by myself to try these Korean corndogs!
Beleaf Burgers is located in an indoor market called Rodeo Market (kind of like Grand Central Market in dtla but way more spacious and lowkey). The woman at the register was SO nice and complimented my new vegan purse (Angela Roi makes the chicest vegan purses. Totally worth the splurge if you’re looking for a new purse)
I ordered two vegan Korean corndogs (one for my sis), the mexican pizza (which was kind of like nachos?), and their brown sugar boba milkshake. I KNOW.
The Korean corndogs were sooooo yummy! They almost tasted like a dessert more than a savory dish. I expected them to taste more like the corndogs you get at carnivals but they legit tasted like a donut with a really yummy vegan hot dog inside. The sauces on top were bomb AF (ketchup and honey mustard). The sauces were so good that if I went back, I would ask for extra sauce on top. Drizzle that ish!!!!
The brown sugar boba milkshake was delicious! Boba in a milkshake is quite the genius idea. It wasn’t too heavy too which I liked, and it came with the most delicious whipped cream on top.
The Mexican pizza was a little disappointing. I didn’t love it. It wasn’t bad and I ate most of it because I was starving but I probably wouldn’t order it again. It just needed more flavor. Perhaps some guac, salsa, and sour cream would have made it better??
Would I drive an hour and a half to come back here? Probably not. But if I was going to Disney, I would stop on the way since it’s close by. Or if somebody else offered to drive, I would 100% go with them. But I probably wouldn’t make the drive alone again. It’s just a little too long/boring to do by myself and, plus, I’d want to enjoy my food with somebody else next time. Proud of myself for going alone today though!
