GUYS. Do you ever feel the intense desire to take a random ass road trip adventure with friends?? Well, that’s exactly what my friends and I did today. We drove 2 hours to the Mojave dessert to go play with goats!
Ok, I know that sounds cray cray, but let me explain. In Mojave, there is a rescue sanctuary for animals called The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats. It is basically a home for rescue animals, such as dogs, goats, horses, pigs, roosters, cows, etc.
The people who run it are SO SWEET and care SO MUCH about their animals. And the animals were all so adorable and friendly!!
It was such a nice break from Los Angeles/USC coming out to Mojave to spend time with nature and animals. It put a lot of things into perspective and reminded me why I love animals so much and how lucky we are to share the earth with them.
It reminded me of this quote: “Animals are born who they are, accept it, and that is that. They live with greater peace than people do.” ― Gregory Maguire
Us humans are so caught up in a million different things, whether it’s fear of judgement or fear of failure. Animals don’t think this way. They are indefinitely at peace with themselves. And it makes me so frustrated that we take this peace away from them by killing them for what? A burger?
Please go visit or donate to this sanctuary! It’s important that we show these people how much we appreciate what they are doing for animals!! They are not only giving these animals a voice, but also a home and a family.

You can also support them by buying their vegan cheese at The Grove or ordering it online! (They bring one of the baby goats to the The Grove if that’s any incentive to check them out lol)
