Ranch Malibu at Live Oak Review

Hey guys! So yes, I attened the Ranch Malibu for a week and lived to tell the tale LOL. For all of you who don’t know what the Ranch is, it’s pretty much a health & wellness retreat/bootcamp aimed for mental clarity, weight loss, and overall improved health.

First of all, I want to mention that the ENTIRE retreat is 100% plant based so the AMAZING AMAZING executive chef there, Nina Curtis, made the most amazing, creative, unforgettable vegan meals I’ve ever had!!! All of them were made of whole foods, sans soy and gluten. The last morning she made a coconut yogurt (with real young coconut meat) topped with fresh berries and granola, and I shit you not, it literally tasted like she had served me a slice of coconut cream pie. If you want to check out her instagram, go check out @botanicalchef. Forget thinspo and losing weight. She makes eating a balanced healthy diet seem AWESOME.

Here are some of the meals we had (in order of pics): Fresh granola and berries with almond milk, raw “tuna” wrap, fresh greens salad with coconut bacon and a delicious creamy dressing, and pesto kelp noodles. And these were only SOME of the amazing dishes we had (which included cauliflower crust pizza, enchiladas, chia pudding, raw tacos, and much more).

Anyway, other than that, I should probably mention we hiked TEN-TWELVE miles every single morning. Let me just say that again in case you thought you read that wrong. TEN to TWELVE miles. I have to admit, it was hard (I puked after the first hike lololol). It was frustrating. And it made me the most hangry I’ve ever been in my whole life.

BUT… I learned so much about myself and how far I can push my limits. Turns out I’m actually great at hiking and very quick on my feet. I also learned how much my vegan, healthy muscular body can achieve! It was tough but so so rewarding.

But don’t let that scare you folk. Everyday we also got massages, had yoga, and also had the occational meditation and accupunture sessions (which I highly recommend). The staff there is AMAZING (Godsent) and the other guests I met there were so so lovely as well.

It was tough. It was delicious. It was relaxing. It was stressful. It was frustrating… but I am SO grateful I got the opportunity to grow stronger, physically, emotionally, and socially during my week at the Ranch.

It’s not for the faint of heart, but if you identify with the Gryffindors of the world, it might just be the place for you! Also I lost 2 pounds lol.
