Okay, so I’ve been eating protein bars for breakfast since I was like 16. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been a huge fan of breakfast. I can never seem to find time for it and I also don’t necessarily crave breakfast-type foods. So I usually want something fast and quick. Growing up, I used to resort to Luna Bars, Nugo Bars, and Cliff Bars. And don’t get me wrong, those are all super delicious but they are also super high in sugar. And sugar isn’t always bad, but maybe it’s not the best thing to start your morning with.
I’ve become obsessed with these Love Good Fat chocolate chip cookie dough bars and I eat them all the time for breakfast now. They are marketed as “snack bars” and not necessarily “protein bars” but they have 7 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar. They are packed with 14 grams of good fat and they are both gluten-free and sugar alcohol free.
They taste delicious and are super creamy and decadent but have a nice crunch as well. I literally look forward to eating these. There are the only bars I eat in the mornings now. They are THAT good.
I think the cookie dough is their only plant-based flavor, so just keep that in mind. The only thing I have a problem with is that they are labeled plant-based but then have “contains milk” on their ingredient list which is super confusing. I contacted them and they said it uses shared equipment with other bars that contain milk so that’s why it says that. But then…. why not just write “may contain milk”? IDK super shady but they did insist that the bar is entirely plant based so IDK about THAT.
